In the heart of Sweifieh, where memories mingle with the scent of old walls and the sounds of life gone by, a new story began for a thirty-year-old apartment. This apartment was not merely walls and ceilings, but the childhood home of a client who grew up within it, memorizing its details room by room, before leaving it upon entering university. Today, thirty years later, he returns to transform it into a new home that reflects his present spirit, yet does not forget the fragrance of the past.
The Beginning: A Call Filled with Nostalgia
The client contacted us after seeing our work in Khadash for Housing and Khadash for Interior Design projects, impressed by the quality of execution and the design details that carry a special spirit balancing authenticity and modernity. He was searching for a team that understands what memory means in a place, and excels at transforming nostalgia into tangible beauty.
We visited the apartment for a technical inspection and found it in need of comprehensive maintenance: damaged insulation, old tiles, walls suffering from moisture and mold, and furniture requiring treatment and renewal. Yet despite all this, it was filled with a remarkable energy… the energy of a place waiting to have its pulse restored.

After a series of meetings and detailed discussions, the client decided that the bohemian style would be the spirit of the new design, for the warmth, freedom, and harmony it brings between natural elements and earthy colors.
Bohemian design is a blend of spontaneity and elegance, appreciating asymmetry and celebrating things that carry a story — such as an old hand-woven rug, or a wooden seat bearing the marks of time.
In this style, fabrics, textures, and colors interweave, and every detail becomes a story: plants tell tales of growth, soft lighting mimics sunset, and natural materials like straw and wood add a touch of serenity and tranquility.
From Imagination to Blueprint
Our design team began preparing detailed plans for the apartment from scratch:

Redistributing the spaces to suit the client’s current lifestyle.

Drawing electrical, plumbing, and structural extension plans in accordance with the new vision.

Converting the plan into a three-dimensional (3D) model to help the client visualize every corner, from furniture placement to the movement of light between rooms.
This step was pivotal as it allowed the client to experience the design before actual implementation began, making decisions more precise and confident.
Interior Designs of the Apartment
The Home Office: Between Focus and Comfort
With the evolution of modern work methods, we created a small office room within the apartment to be a space that combines tranquility and inspiration. We used neutral colors and practical furniture with a soft bohemian design that harmonizes with the rest of the home. The walls will feature natural wood shelves for books and collectibles, while warm lighting will aid concentration without depriving the room of its intimate character.
Old Furniture… Renewed Memory
The goal was not to replace everything, but to revive what can live anew. Some old furniture pieces will be carefully restored — old wooden seats will be repainted in a new color, and old kitchen cabinets will be maintained and their handles changed in color to become new and align with the apartment’s new design spirit.
In this way, the past remains present, not as a static memory, but as a vibrant part of the new life.
