Ribs Nodes – Explaining the Node Formwork

Preparing the ribs node (hollow blocks) for pouring is one of the essential stages in construction processes that requires precision and attention to detail to ensure the quality and stability of the build. These steps are among the key factors that determine the project’s success, so it is necessary that they are carried out correctly in accordance with engineering standards. In this article, we will explain all the details related to how to prepare the ribs node for pouring, starting from fixing the beams through to ensuring the final balance of the node using the latest tools such as the level device and the laser device.

Fixing the beams and preparing the horse

The first step we begin with is fixing the beams in place. The beams are tightened precisely to one another using special equipment, and this is a fundamental step in forming the horse. The horse is the structure that will carry the node and ensure its stability. After fixing the beams, we divide the horse into equal lengths based on the engineering design. Along these lengths, we install the caps, which are the parts that help distribute the load and ensure the structure is stable and rigid.

Using the level device to determine the ceiling height

At a later stage of the process, we use the level device to set the correct height of the ceiling relative to the ground. Determining this mark accurately is extremely important, as all subsequent stages of work depend on it. The level device allows us to know whether the ceiling is at the correct level or not, and it helps us determine the position of the horse precisely.

Lifting the horse and fixing it in the specified place

After determining the mark using the level device, we move on to lifting the horse that was prepared earlier. It is lifted to the specified location, where we temporarily fix it using the jacks. This step ensures that the horse will be in the required position and will enable us to continue with the rest of the work stages. The jacks are tightened only initially to hold the horse in place before we proceed with the next steps.

Installing the carriers and calibrating with the jacks

After temporarily fixing the horse, we install the beams in the opposite direction; these beams are called “carriers”. The carriers support the horse and increase its stability. Once the carriers are installed, we calibrate the jacks and adjust them precisely according to the marks set using the level device. This step is necessary to ensure that all dimensions and heights are correct, which will contribute to providing a strong and stable structure in the end.

Fixing the carriers and forming the frame

After installing the carriers, we fix them together from the top to form the complete frame. The frame consists of the horses and the carriers, and it serves as a basic structure to support the rest of the process. Fixing the frame accurately means we have completed an important stage of preparing the node for pouring, and we can move on to the next stage.

Installing the panels and ensuring balance in preparation for the ribs

The next stage includes lifting the panels and placing them in position. We arrange the panels precisely so that they are next to each other according to the plan. This arrangement helps provide a solid base for the node and facilitates the process of installing the rebar later. After installing the panels, we secure them well in place to ensure that all parts are perfectly cohesive.

Final check of the node level

In the final stage, we use the laser device to carry out an accurate check of the node height. Through this step, we ensure that the node is at the correct level 100%, as any error in determining the level may lead to major problems during pouring. This process is final and gives us confirmation that all measurements have been carried out accurately, meaning the structure is ready for pouring.

In this way, we have fully and accurately completed preparing the node for pouring, which will enable us to move on to the pouring stage with complete confidence. In the next article, we will show how to place the ribs and install the rebar, which is the stage that follows preparing the node and is an important step in completing the project correctly.
